The Tyrant attacks by either slashing with the Primary Attack button or trampling with Secondary Attack. To trample, first hold down the Secondary Attack button while moving forward to charge up, then release to run at high speed for a short time, damaging anything in your path. The Tyrant also has a healing aura that will double the regeneration rate of lower class aliens within range.
Tyrant Strategies
- The tank of the Alien team, with whooping 400 hp it will take a lot of effort to take down if the Human team is on a lower stage
- Tyrants have almost no jumping capabilities, keep that in mind when you chose a route to the opponents base. In some maps there are places you can't exit from as a tyrant (bottom area on tremor, for example). Because of that, it's sometimes better to avoid evolving into a tyrant until you get into a comfortable position
- If you try to retreat and get followed by a single human, it's sometime better to face him then to let him shoot at your back
- There is no possible way to kill a full health tyrant with a single shot, so you can always be the one inspecting the safety of the road for your teammates. However, a lucifer+grenade or many lucifers can do enough damage to end you, but that is pretty rare
- Try not to suicide rush into the enemy base if you don't have evos to back it up. But with that much health, there is a chance you will succeed in getting away with it too
- Watch where you trample. You can easily stop the trample by stopping your movement. It's a bad thing to charge into your last egg at full speed by accident, or to teamkill a wounded tyrant trying to retreat
- At times, it's not a bad idea to allow your teammates to heal near you, instead of running off into the enemy base alone
Tyrant Killing Strategies
- 'Don't feed the Tyrant!'. If your armour is below Helmet+Light Armour, don't leave your base alone, you will just end up helping the aliens. Either find a partner, build or ask your team for credits
- Tyrants are big, fat targets. Even so, they will take a long time to kill, however, they can get stuck at many places because of their size. Most vents are out of their reach, and they can't climb ladders. At times, alien buildings can be the ones helping you trap the tyrant
- Tight hallways are good when facing multiple tyrants, since they will be the ones dealing most of the damage for you, and they will have no chance to retreat
