Usage

Dictates whether the server will be pure or not. Unpure servers allow non-gameplay changing mods from users, and can setup gameplay changing mods on themselves.

This variable is important for map makers because most of the time they are not dealing with the .pk3 file version of their map but instead with the real physical files that can later be found in a .pk3. And to play a map .bsp file that lies in the usually not physically existing subfolder "maps", sv_pure has to be turned off.
