The console is "input center" of Tremulous where every command is executed. This includes all the gameplay controls that are merely binds to execute commands in the console. To access the console, press the "~" (tilde) key. The console also records all game events as they are temporarily shown on screen, like for example who got killed by whom. The console buffer is bigger than what can be shown on screen. Earlier text can be read by scrolling up with the mouse wheel. The console buffer can be saved into a file. The command is condump.

Console Commands

Command Format

The format of console commands is very simple: a "/" (forward slash) followed by a command's name. An example of this would be /god, which activates god mode.

Executing Commands

To execute a command, simply hit enter.

Binding

Main article: Binding

Binding is the process of having a certain key execute a certain command. All of the keyboard controls are binds - for example, when you press W, you move forward. The W is bound to /+forward, which moves you forward. It is possible to make your own binds, and it is highly encouraged by experienced Tremulous players. See the main article on binding to learn more about this.
